"There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus."
Here is a key verse of Scripture. There is a separation between God and humanity that goes back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve chose to rebel against God and go their own way. And once they departed there was no way to return.
Fortunately, God decided to save us by becoming one of us. Since we wouldn't return to him, he came to rescue us. For us to live, he had to die. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humanity because he is the only one that is both divine and human.
The next time you pray, speak directly to Jesus. He is our reconciler and rescuer. He desires a relationship with you, if only you will reach out to him.
