Colossians 2:12

"For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead."

A young man being baptized with cheering friends.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are called to be baptized. This baptism is a public declaration that you are a new person, transformed by God to lead a new life. As Paul indicates in Colossians 2:12, to be submerged under water is a symbol of being buried with Christ, and to be brought up out of the water is analogous to being raised with him.

If you are a follower of Jesus and would like to be baptized, you don't need to wait for the pandemic to be over to do this. Simply ask a fellow Christian to baptize you and invite your friends and family to watch via Facetime, Google Duo, or some other video conferencing program. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the person who baptizes you has to be a "professional Christian" (i.e., a pastor). They don't even need to be in the same room with you. You could literally set up your laptop with Zoom, hop in your own bathtub, and a Christian you respect could talk you through your baptism while your friends and family watch on. This approach may sound crazy to some people, but I don't think this would be wrong if you truly want to make a public declaration to follow Jesus. So trust the mighty power of God and get baptized, there is no better time than right now.
