"To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them."
In this verse, Jesus tells us that it is critical to listen to him. Moreover if we don't want to focus and learn what he has to say, we will be even more lost.
To remind ourselves of the importance of listening, I want you to find a busy and noisy location. Once in that place, stop and close your eyes if possible. Breathe in a slow, relaxed manner. Listen intently to everything you can hear. Identify in your mind all of the various sounds.
As you sort out the various sounds, consider which of these sounds is the most important one. Why is it important? Finally, what is God trying to tell you in your life right now? What is he whispering to you?
