"Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone."
What does it look like to have a "gracious" and "attractive" conversation? Perhaps Paul gives us a hint in the fourth chapter of Colossians. In verse six of that chapter, he indicates that a gracious and attractive conversation is connected to providing the "right response." In other words, when the person we are conversing with feels that we are engaging with them, they will see our words as encouraging and beneficial.
There are many ways to be gracious and attractive in your dealings with others. However, for today's exercise let's keep this simple and try to give a compliment to three people. For example, if you notice someone wearing a nice outfit, tell them you like it. If someone at work has made a positive contribution lately, let them know how it has helped you or others. See someone in a antique car or souped up vehicle? Give them a thumbs up. It's easy to offer an accolade, just be sure your compliment is genuine and specific. Giving compliments is just one way to make your conversations gracious and attractive, and we might just find it's more contagious than COVID-19.
