Matthew 19:30

"But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then."

Six men sweeping the floor at a hurried pace.

Sometimes we may feel that we are pretty insignificant in this world. You probably aren't rich, beautiful, or part of the social elite. But Jesus tells us that we can be stars in the Kingdom of Heaven. And to do this is not as difficult as one might think. All we have to do is place God's priorities above the priorities of the world. To serve God fully now is to be rewarded well later.

So in this spirit of service, identify a task that you have been putting off. This should be a chore that will bless another person, but which requires you to expend time and effort. Think about what this is right now. Pray about it if you need to. Once you have identified it, work on it right away, or at the very least, commit a time in your calendar to complete this task in the near future. When you engage in the chore, put a little spring in your step as you remind yourself that to serve God through others is the making of greatness.
