"Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
At the end of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus assures his followers that he will be with us until the end of time. This should be an encouraging reminder that we are not alone. No matter where we go. No matter how old we become. Jesus is present in our lives.
Sometime in your day today, try to guess what time it is without looking at a clock. Was your estimate of the hour and minute close to the actual time? If so, congratulations, you probably have a fairly accurate circadian clock. If your guess wasn't that close, don't worry. You may be unsure of the time, but you can be confident that if you are a follower of Jesus, he is present with you right now. So whenever you stop to glance at your watch or to check the time, take the opportunity to give a quick thank you to Jesus for being with you. And then ask yourself, are you being wise with the time God has given you?
